KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 12, 2024) - In Friday's matchup at the ARC, Queen's Women's Basketball showcased their dominance over McMaster, with a final score of 101-58.

The first quarter set the tone for a battle, with both teams locked in, and the score knotted at 11-11 early on. However, Queen's quickly asserted their authority, pulling away to carry an eight-point lead into the second quarter.

The Gaels continued to build on their lead in the second quarter, intensifying their efforts and upping the momentum. By halftime, the score stood at an impressive 48-22 in favor of the Gaels.

As the game progressed into the third quarter, Queen's showcased a strong performance that left McMaster trailing behind. McMaster called a timeout in an attempt to regroup, but Queen's demonstrated skillful play on both ends of the court, leaving little room for McMaster to mount a comeback. The Gaels extended their lead in the final quarter, ending the game on top.

Julia Chadwick led the Gaels offensively with 24 points, and Haley Barbieri added 18. Queen's capitalized on turnovers, converting them into 18 points, doubling McMaster's output of nine points off turnovers.

Queen's also out-rebounded McMaster decisively, securing 52 rebounds compared to McMaster's 25.
