Queen's Women's Soccer maintained their perfect record in the 2023 OUA regular season with a 3-0 win over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks Friday afternoon in Oshawa, Ont.
The Gaels opened the scoring just three minutes in when
Leda Naihin (Markham, Ont.) found the back of the net on a goal assisted by
Mattson Strickler (Ottawa, Ont.).Â
Naihin added a second goal of the game in the 33rd minute and assisted on a
Seema Sakran (Ottawa, Ont.) in the 11 minute.
Lily Goss (Kingston, Ont.) assisted on Naihin's second goal of the game. Naihin now has five goals on the season, tied for third in the conference, and seven points, tied for first in the conference.
The Gaels took a three-goal lead into half time and shut the door on the Ridgebacks in the second half, as goalkeeper
Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.) recorded one save for a fourth-straight clean sheet to start the season.
WIth the win, Queen's improved their record to 4-0 this season. The Gaels sit atop the OUA East standings and will return to the field on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. to take on the Trent Excalibur in Peterborough, Ont.
