KINGSTON, Ont. (Feb. 20, 2023) - Queen's Women's Hockey will face the Nipissing Lakers in Round 1 of the OUA Playoffs, with the series set to open Wednesday in Kingston, Ont.

The Gaels will host the Lakers in Game 1 of their Best-of-Three series Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Memorial Centre before the series shifts to Powassan, Ont. for Game 2 and Game 3 (if necessary).

Queen's finished the regular season third in the OUA East Division standings with a 13-10-3-1 record. The Lakers finished the regular season second in the OUA East with a 19-4-3-0 record. 

The Gaels and Lakers met three times in the regular season this year, with Queen's holding the edge in the series 2-1.

The Gaels won their first meeting 5-4 in overtime at the Memorial Centre on Nov. 26 before Nipissing edged Queen's 4-3 in overtime at the Memorial Centre on Nov. 27. The Gaels won the third match 2-1 in overtime in North Bay, Ont. on Jan. 21.
