Queen’s scores 100 in win over Algoma

KINGSTON, Ont. (Dec. 2, 2023) - Queen's locked in a win against the Algoma Thunderbirds in their final game before the winter break.

After pushing past Guelph Friday night, the Gaels put together another strong performance on their home court.

The first quarter was tight, with the Thunderbirds trailing closely behind. Despite Algoma's best efforts, Luka Syllas would drive to the basket to close the first quarter on top. Syllas would register 21 points and 9 rebounds in the game.

In a post game interview, Syllas said, "I was playing off my teammates and trying to get to the rim as much as I could." The Gaels pulled away in the second quarter, building a solid 22 point lead. It was a scrappy third quarter, and the Thunderbirds were not backing down, but Queen's remained on top. Fofo Adetogun scored the 100th point for the Gaels and they would close the game 100-67.

With the win, the men's record improved to 7-2. The Gaels are on the road for their next game January 5th at 8:00PM in Ottawa to take on the Gee Gees.
