KINGSTON, Ont. (Dec.2,2023) - Queen's Women's Basketball outscored the visiting Algoma Thunderbirds, 69-36.
Coming off a win over the Guelph Gryphons Friday night, the Gaels were hungry for another victory. They closed the first quarter in a 9 point lead, and continued playing an offensive game, entering halftime with confidence. With contributions from Julia Chadwick, who would register 23 points in this game, the Gaels built their lead to 27 points in the third quarter. "Challenging each other in practice every day to get better," Chadwick claims is the key to success. The Gaels would go on to finish the game on top.
With the win, Queen's record improved to 8-1. The Gaels will be on the road for their next game against the Ottawa Gee Gees in Ottawa, January 5th at 6:00PM.
When asked about preparations for their next game in 2024, Laura Donovan confidently stated, "We're going to get right back where we left off."
