KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 5, 2023) - Queen's Women's Hockey won their second straight game over the TMU Bold, sweeping their weekend series with the team with a 3-1 win on Sunday.
After a scoreless first period, the Gaels found the back of the net twice in the second period to take a two-goal lead into the final frame.
Alyson Reeves (Toronto, Ont.) opened the scoring on a goal assisted by
Kelsey Dunn (Sudbury, Ont.) before
Mikayla Cranney (Aurora, Ont.) doubled Queen's lead, with Reeves and Dunn recording their second points of the game with the helpers.
The two teams traded goals in the third period for the Gaels to hold on for the two-goal win.
After the Bold got on the board midway through the period, Queen's responded less than 20 seconds later when
Rebecca Thompson (Kingston, Ont.) scored, with assists going to
Emma McKnight (Dorchester, Ont.) and
Sarah Campbell (Oakville, Ont.).Â
Emma Tennant (Pointe-Claire, Que.) finished with 23 saves in the winning effort for the Gaels.
With the win, Queen's improved their record to 3-4-0 on the season. The Gaels will return to the ice next weekend on the road, visiting the Laurier Golden Hawks and Western Mustangs.
