Gaels continue hot start with another big offensive output in win over York

Queen's Men's Hockey continued their hot start with another big offensive output in their 8-3 win over the York Lions Friday night in North York, Ont.

One night after opening their season with seven goals in a win over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks, the Gaels did one better with eight goals scored against the Lions.

Dalton Duhart (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and Jonathan Yantsis (Markham, Ont.) led the offensive surge with two goals each. Duhart also recorded two assists for a four-point night, while Yantsis had one assist for three points on the night.

Also scoring for Queen's in the win were Nolan Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.), with his fifth goal of the season, Kolton Cousins (Sechelt, B.C.), Owen Lalonde (Windsor, Ont.), and first-year Dharan Cap (North Vancouver, B.C.), with his first with the Gaels.

Cap also recorded an assist for a two-point night while Holden Katzalay (West Vancouver, B.C.) and Jakob Brahaney (Hastings, Ont.) each recorded two assists in the win.

Christian Purboo (Oakville, Ont.) made 31 saves for Queen's in the win.

With their season-opening weekend sweep, the Gaels' record stands at 2-0. Queen's Men's Hockey returns to the ice next weekend for their home opener. The Gaels will host the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, Oct. 13 and the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Memorial Centre arena.
