KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 28, 2023) - Queen's Men's Hockey returned to the win column with a big 7-2 victory over the TMU Bold Saturday night at the Memorial Centre.
After the Bold opened the scoring late in the first period, the Gaels evened the score before the period was out when
Jonathan Yantsis (Markham, Ont.) scored on the power play.
The Gaels scored twice more on the power play in the second period, with
Michael Renwick (Mississauga, Ont.) and
Dalton Duhart (Grand Blanc, Mich.) finding the back of the net, to take a 3-1 lead.
The Bold would get one back in the second period before Queen's scored four unanswered goals in the third for the five-goal win.
Yantsis led the Gaels' offensive efforts with five points (one goal, four assists). Duhart,
Derek Hamilton (Kingston, Ont.), and
Nolan Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) all finished with three points.
With the win, Queen's improved their record to 5-3-0. The Gaels will return to the ice next weekend, hosting the Nipissing Lakers on Friday, Nov. 3 and McGill Redbirds on Saturday, Nov. 4.Â
