Queen's Women's Hockey fell 4-1 to the Nipissing Lakers Friday night in North Bay, Ont.
Nipissing opened the scoring in the first period on the power play, doubled their lead in the second period, and added a third straight goal, another power play marker, in the third period.
Charlotte Melindy (Whitby, Ont.) scored an unassisted goal midway through the third period to get Queen's on the board and cut the Lakers' lead to two, but Nipissing would respond before the period was out and Queen's dropped the contest by three goals.
With the loss, the Gaels' record dropped to 1-3 on the season. Queen's and Nipissing will face each other again on Saturday, Oct. 28, as Queen's closes out their weekend road trip in North Bay at 5 p.m.
