Queen's Women's Soccer remained undefeated on the season, blanking the Laurentian Voyageurs 4-0 in Sudbury, Ont. Saturday afternoon.
The Gaels opened the scoring just three minutes in, when
Vita Naihin (Markham, Ont.) found the back of the net on a goal assisted by
Lily Goss (Kingston, Ont.).
The rest of the first half went scoreless, with Queen's carrying a one-goal lead into half time.
Just one minute into the second half, the Gaels doubled their lead when
Mattson Strickler (Ottawa, Ont.) scored their 11th goal of the season, assisted by
Seema Sakran (Ottawa, Ont.).
Sophie Miranda (Cobble Hill, B.C.) scored for Queen's in the 56th minute, with Sakran recording a second assist on the goal, and
Melina Glavas (Vancouver, B.C.) netted the Gaels' fourth goal of the game in the 76th minute, assisted by
Kendra Couto (Aylmer, Ont.).
Queen's finished the game with 31 shots and 22 on net, while holding the Voyageurs to five shots with one on net.
Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.) made one save for a 10th clean sheet on the season.
With the victory, Queen's improved their record to 10-0-1 on the season. The Gaels are tied for first in the OUA East division standings with Ottawa, both sitting on 31 points. The Gaels will close out their regular season schedule Sunday, taking on the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay, Ont.
