KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 20, 2023) - After opening their regular season with a road win last weekend, Queen's Women's Hockey fell to the Waterloo Warriors 3-1 in their home opener Friday night at the Memorial Centre.
The Gaels opened the scoring just one minute into the first frame, when
Sophie Hudson (Maple, Ont.) found the back of the net on a goal assisted by
Alyson Reeves (Toronto, Ont.) and
Taylor Eastwood (Ottawa, Ont.).
Queen's carried the one-goal lead into the second period before Waterloo netted two goals to take the lead. The Warriors would add a third goal in the third period and hold on for the two-goal victory.
Queen's out-shot the Warriors 22-16.
The Gaels will wrap up their home opening weekend at Memorial Centre Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against the Laurier Golden Hawks,
