Queen's Women's Hockey completed a comeback to defeat the Nipissing Lakers 2-1 in overtime Saturday night in North Bay, Ont.
After a scoreless first period, the Lakers opened the scoring early in the second period when Malory Dominico found the back of the net.
Logan Biggs got the Gaels on the board and evened the scoring early in the third period on a goal assisted by
Alex Maw and
Maddie Briggs that sent the game to overtime.
Then
Emma McKnight sent Queen's home with a win midway through overtime with an unassisted goal.
Lexi Giorgi made 27 saves for the Gaels in the win.
With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 3-7-5-4. Queen's sits fifth in the OUA East Division standings with 23 points.
