KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 20, 2023) - The Queen's Men's Hockey team pulled through for their fourth consecutive win against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks Friday at the Memorial Centre. It was the Gaels first game against Ridgebacks this season, preluding their next few face-offs in the coming weeks.

It was a close, evenly-matched game throughout the first two periods.

In the first, the Gaels came out strong and dominated in scoring opportunities, coming up with many near goals against the Ridgebacks. Ontario Tech kept up with quick shots and plays, but they were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net as well.

The second period was also very close, resulting in a few penalties for both teams. Queen's capitalized during their power plays, racking up thirteen shots against the Ridgebacks. Ontario Tech goalie Leif Hertz kept them in the game.

The beginning of the third period was exceptional for Queen's, as right off the jump they had multiple close scoring opportunities. At just under eight minutes in the period,
Nolan Hutcheson came in clutch with a goal, assisted by
Alex Robert and
Jack Duff.

With the win, Queen's overall record improved to 9-9-2, and the Gaels remained in seventh place in the OUA East standings.
