Queen's Men's Basketball hold on to defeat Windsor

KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan 20, 2023) - After an intense game against the Windsor Lancers, Queen's Men's Basketball came out on top with a score of 93-92 Saturday night at the Athletics and Recreation Centre.

The first two quarters were tight, but Queen's came out ahead. While the Lancers were never too far behind, the Gaels stayed in the lead for the entirety of the game. In the second half, the Lancers brought their A-game and as the score got close, the fourth quarter was a tough battle. With a strong defensive play in the final seconds of the game, Queen's was able to come out on top with the one-point win.

Cole Syllas led the Gaels offensively, scoring a total of 28 points, while Michael Kelvin had a season-high of 18.

Cole Syllas stated that while Windsor played a great game, the support he received from both his teammates and the crowd allowed him to maintain composure during a tough game like this.

With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 12-1. The Gaels will return to the court Saturday, January 21 at 8 p.m when they take on the Western Mustangs at the Athletics and Recreational Center.
