Queen's Men's Basketball defeated the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 84-53 Tuesday night in Oshawa, Ont. The midweek contest was a rescheduled game from the fall.
After a tight opening quarter, Queen's outscored Ontario Tech by 14 points in the second quarter to carry a 17-point lead into half time. The Gaels built their lead to 29-points after three quarters on their way to the 31-point win.
It was a strong all-around effort for Queen's, who finished with 36 points off the bench while the Gaels defence forced the Ridgebacks into 21 turnovers, leading to 30 points.
Cam Bett led all scorers with 21 points in 30 minutes off the bench for the Gaels in the big win.
Luka Syllas finished with 18 points and nine rebounds while
Cole Syllas recorded 18 points and seven rebounds for Queen's. And
Isaac Krueger managed a game-high 15 rebounds off the bench for the Gaels.
Queen's shot 40 per cent from the floor and 32 per cent from three-point range, while holding Ontario Tech to 29 per cent shooting from the floor and 20 per cent from three-point range.
With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 10-1 and remain atop the OUA East Division standings. The Ridgebacks fell to 1-10 with the loss.
Queen's Men's Basketball will return to the court Saturday, Jan. 14 with a road game, taking on the Algoma Thunderbirds in Sault Ste. Marie. Catch all the action on
