Seema Sakran scored two first half goals and Queen's Women's Soccer held their opponents without a shot in a 5-0 win over the Laurentian Voyageurs Saturday in Sudbury, Ont.
Sakran (Barrie, Ont.), who is now tied for second in the OUA with five goals, opened the scoring in the 10th minute and doubled the Gaels' lead in the 23rd minute.
Queen's added to their lead in the second half, with
Mattie Strickler (Ottawa, Ont.) scoring her fourth goal of the season in the 54th minute.
Raya Athwal (White Rock, B.C.), who assisted on Sakran's second goal, added another goal in the 61st minute while
Nyah Slusarenko (Ottawa, Ont.) scored in the 83rd minute.
Jenna Matsukubo (Ottawa, Ont.) added an assist in the win for Queen's.
With the win, the Gaels are now 3-0-2 on the season and sit provisionally third in the OUA East standings. The Voyageurs dropped to 0-4 with the loss.
Queen's is back in action Sunday, Sept. 25, taking on the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay, Ont.
