KINGSTON, Ont. (Sept. 18) - Queen's Women's Soccer added another win to their season tally Sunday as they defeated their Kingston neighbours, the RMC Paladins, 10-0 at Richardson Stadium.
The Gaels rallied up 52 shots with 38 on goal. Seema Sakran (Barrie, Ont.) not only scored their first goal as a Gael, but was able to add two more to make it a hat-trick. Alicia Sutcliffe (Mississauga, Ont.) and Izzy Pineda (Surrey, B.C.) also scored their first goals for Queen's.
Cecilia Way (Victoria, B.C.) had another strong game for Queen's finishing with two goals and three assists in the win. Way now leads the OUA with nine points (four goals, five assists).
Mattie Strickler (Ottawa, Ont.), Jenna Matsukubo (Ottawa, Ont.), and Raya Athwal (White Rock, B.C.) also scored for the Gaels in the win.
Other recognizable firsts were for Lily Goss (Kingston, Ont.) and Devon Eisen (Toronto, Ont.), who got their first assists and points as Gaels.
Gabi Laaouan (Halifax, N.S.) recorded the clean sheet for Queen's in the win.
With the win, the Gaels improved to 2-0-2 on the season and currently sit in second place in the OUA East with eight points. The Paladins' record dropped to 0-3-0 with the loss.
The undefeated Gaels are back in action next Saturday, September 24th, as they take on the Laurentian Voyageurs in Sudbury, Ont. at 12 p.m.
