Women's Rugby remain undefeated with big win over Western

KINGSTON, Ont. (Sept. 17, 2022) - Queen's Women's Rugby improved their record to 3-0 on the season with a 53-0 win over the Western Mustangs Saturday at Nixon Field. 

The Gaels opened the scoring with a try by Grace Anderson (Montreal, Que.) and never looked back. Lizzie Gibson (Caldeon, Ont.) once again was the highest scorer of the game, bringing in two tries and three converts for 16 points/ Carmen Izyk (Blackie, Alta.) also had a big game for Queen's in the win, finishing with three tries for 15 points.  

Maddie Donnelly (Little Britain, Ont.), Sophia Tafel (Canmore, Alta.), Amelie Stapley (Caledon, Ont.) and Emily Butterworth (Toronto, Ont.) all added one try each for Queen's in the win. 

The Gaels have yet to surrender a point this season and have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 222-0. 
 
Queen's Women's Rugby is on the road next weekend, taking on the McMaster Marauders on Saturday, Sept, 24 at 6 p.m. in Hamilton, Ont.
