Men’s Basketball fall to Saskatchewan, to play for bronze at U SPORTS Men’s Final 8 Basketball Championship

The Queen's Gaels fell to the Saskatchewan Huskies 86-60 in the semifinals at the U SPORTS Men's Final 8 Basketball Championship Saturday in Edmonton, Alta.

The Gaels held a 21-20 lead after the first quarter, but Saskatchewan outscored Queen's 25-10 in the second quarter and 32-8 in the third. Queen's had a strong fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as the Huskies held on for the 26-point win.

Quinton Gray (Richmond Hill, Ont.) led all Gaels with 13 points and six rebounds in the game, while Luka Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) also scored in double digits, finishing with 12 points.

Queen's will return to the court Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Bronze Medal Game at the U SPORTS Men's Final 8 Basketball Championship. They will take on the loser of the second semifinal between the Alberta Golden Bears and Carleton Ravens.
