Ryan Cranford (Embrun, Ont.) scored two goals and
Luke Richardson (Barrie, Ont.) made 26 saves as Queen's Men's Hockey shut out the RMC Paladins 5-0 Saturday at RMC for their seventh straight win, the last four all coming against RMC.
Jonathan Yantsis (Markham, Ont.) opened the scoring midway through the first period and the Gaels never looked back on their way to the five-goal win.
Nolan Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) shorthanded and
Trevor Longo (North Vancouver, B.C.) on the power play also scored for Queen's in the win. Longo also recorded an assist for a two-point game while
Jakob Brahaney (Hastings, Ont.) and
Duncan Campbell (Brandon, Man.) added two helpers each.
Josh Curtis (Winnipeg, Man.),
Holden Katzalay (West Vancouver, B.C.) and
Liam Dunda (Grimsby, Ont.) also recorded assists for the Gaels in the win.
With the win, Queen's improved their record to 15-1-1 this season. RMC's record fell to 1-14-3 after the loss.
The Gaels will return to the ice next weekend, hosting the Nipissing Lakers in a doubleheader. Queen's will take on Nipissing Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Memorial Centre.
