Queen's Women's Basketball closed out their regular season with a 71-60 win over the Carleton Ravens in Ottawa, Ont. Saturday, splitting their weekend series.
Julia Chadwick (Ottawa, Ont.) led the way for the Gaels with a double-double, recording a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Two other Gaels scored in double digits in the win, with
Emma Weltz (Timmins, Ont.) finishing with 19 points and
Laura Donovan (London, Ont.) adding 10.
Bridget Mulholland (Kingston, Ont.) recorded a game-high 13 rebounds.
The Gaels out-shot the Ravens Saturday, finishing 22-60 (36.7 per cent) from the floor and 6-20 (40 per cent) from three-point range, compared to 23-73 (31.5 per cent) from the floor and 5-19 (26.3 per cent) from three-point range for the Ravens.
With the win, the Gaels finished the regular season with a 9-5 record. The team will open the OUA Playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the OUA East and will host the No. 6 seed York Lions Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the ARC. The Gaels split their season series with the Lions.
