Four players scored in double digits led by
Laura Donovan's game-high 21 points as Queen's Women's Basketball defeated the Nipissing Lakers 83-58 Saturday in North Bay, Ont. to sweep their weekend doubleheader.
The Gaels won by the same score as Friday night, improving their record to 7-3. Queen's is third in the OUA East Division standings, behind the Rams (12-0) and Carleton Ravens (9-2).
Donovan (London, Ont.) added four rebounds and five assists in the win.
Emma Weltz (Timmins, Ont.) scored 16 points while
Isabella Belvedere (Bolton, Ont.) and
Bridget Mulholland (Kingston, Ont.) added 10 points each.
Sophie de Goede (Victoria, B.C.) led Queen's with a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Gaels shot nearly 50 per cent from the floor (29-59) and 32.1 per cent (9-28) from three-point range, while holding the Lakers to 31.3 per cent (20-64) from the floor and 25 per cent (6-24) from three-point range.
Queen's will return to the court Friday at 12 p.m. at the ARC, taking on the York Lions in the first game of a weekend doubleheader.
