Julia Chadwick scored a game-high 20 points to help Queen's Women's Basketball past the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 74-49 Tuesday in Oshawa, Ont.
The Gaels (No. 10) improved their record to 5-3 with the win, and moved to fifth in the OUA East Division standings. The Ridgebacks fell to 1-10 with the loss.
Chadwick (Ottawa, Ont.) also recorded six rebounds, one block, and one steal in the win.
Sophie de Goede (Victoria, B.C.) finished the game just shy of a double double with eight points and nine rebounds while
Emma Weltz (Timmins, Ont.),
Isabella Belvedere (Bolton, Ont.),
Abbey Hetherington (Kingston, Ont.), and
Mikayla McFarlane (Kingston, Ont.) added eight points each.
The Gaels outshot the Ridgebacks, finishing 25-59 (42.4 per cent) from the floor and 4-13 (30.8 per cent) from three-point range, compared to 32.8 per cent from the floor and 15.4 per cent from three-point range by Ontario Tech.
Queen's is back in action this weekend with a doubleheader on the road against the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay, Ont. The Gaels will take on the Lakers Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m.
