Queen's Men's Basketball found their way back in the win column with a 91-68 victory over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks Tuesday in Oshawa, Ont.
After dropping their first two games of the regular season two weekends ago to the Ottawa Gee-Gees, the Gaels (No. 8) improved their record to 6-2 with the win over Ontario Tech and now sit third in the OUA East Division behind the Carleton Ravens (9-0) and Gee-Gees (8-1). Â
Three players scored in double digits for Queen's in the win, with
Quinton Gray (Richmond Hill, Ont.),
Cole Syllas (Kingston, Ont.), and
Henry Van Herk (Toronto, Ont.) scoring 16 points each. Gray added nine assists and five rebounds while Syllas added eight rebounds.
Luka Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) finished the game one point shy of a double double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
The Gaels outshot Ontario Tech in the win, finishing 31-69 (44.9 per cent) from the floor and 7-25 (28 per cent) from three-point range, compared to 27-66 (40.9 per cent) from the floor to 7-30 (23.3 per cent) for the Ridgebacks.
Queen's is back in action this weekend with a doubleheader against the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay, Ont. The Gaels will face the Lakers Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m.
