Queen's Men's Basketball close out first half of season with buzzer beater win over Toronto

KINGSTON, Ont. (Dec. 3, 2022) - Connor Kelly hit a three-pointer at the final buzzer to lift Queen's Men's Basketball over the Toronto Varsity Blues 96-95 Saturday night at the Athletics and Recreation Centre.

The game capped eventful back-to-back nights for the Gaels to close out their first half of the season at 9-1. The Gaels led the game for the first two quarters before the Varsity Blues were able to bring it within one heading into the final quarter (73-72). The fourth quarter was a battle and Queen's was able to come out on stop with the Kelly three-pointer in the final seconds of the game.

Kelly scored a total of 30 points with eight three-pointers. Cole Syllas recorded 22 points on the night while Luka Syllas and Connor Keefe both added 14.

The Gaels will return to the court after the winter break, on January 6 when they take on the Brock Badgers at the Athletics and Recreational Centre at 8 p.m. The game will also be available to stream at oua.tv.
