Vanessa Campeau made stopped all three shooters as Queen's Women's Hockey defeated the Guelph Gryphons 4-3 in a shootout Saturday afternoon in Guelph, Ont.
With the win, the Gaels swept their weekend road trip and improved their record to 3-2-1 on the season.
After the Gryphons opened the scoring midway through the first period,
Emma Michalicka, evened the score late in the period on a goal assisted by
Logan Biggs.
After a scoreless second period,
Emma McKnight gave the Gaels a 2-1 lead on a goal assisted by Michalicka. Biggs gave the Gaels a two-goal lead less than a minute later on a goal assisted by
Alicia Juras before two late goals by the Gryphons sent the game to overtime.
Campeau made 33 saves before the shootout in the winning effort for Queen's.
The Gaels return to the ice next weekend, taking on the Toronto Varsity Blues Friday, Nov. 11 in Toronto, Ont.
