Queen's Men's Hockey's comeback fell just short as they were edged 4-3 by the Ottawa Gee-Gees Saturday in Ottawa, Ont.
After captain
Ryan Cranford opened the scoring for the Gaels on the power play, with assists going to
Trevor Longo and
Alex Robert, the Gee-Gees scored the next four goals to take a 4-1 lead.
Queen's scored two late goals to close the gap, but it wasn't enough as Ottawa held on for the one-goal win.
Cranford netted his second, with assists going to
Kolton Cousins and
Jakob Brahaney, and
Holden Katzalay netted a shorthanded goal unassisted in the comeback that fell just short.
With the loss, Queen's record fell to 4-7-1. The Gaels will return to the ice next weekend when they host the Gee-Gees and Concordia Stingers at the Memorial Centre.
