Queen's Women's Basketball defeated the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks 86-58 Saturday in Oshawa, Ont. to improve their record to 6-0 on the season.
After jumping out to an eight-point lead on the Ridgebacks after the first quarter, the Gaels outscored Ontario Tech 30-9 in the second quarter, carrying a 29-point lead into half time on their way to the big win.
Four Queen's players scored in double digits in the win, led by
Julia Chadwick who recorded a game-high 15 points while also grabbing nine rebounds.
Emma Weltz added 12 points in the win while
Mikayla McFarlane scored 14 points off the bench for the Gaels and
Amy Hagman added 11 points, also off the bench.
Queen's, alone atop the OUA East standings with a 6-0 record, will return to the court next weekend with a doubleheader on the road in Waterloo, Ont, taking on the Laurier Golden Hawks and Waterloo Warriors.
