KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 18, 2022) - Queen's Men's Basketball defeated the top-ranked Carleton Ravens 76-62 in a massive home game Friday at the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC). Â
It was a close first quarter for the Gaels, going into the second up 18-14, but their defence was strong and extended their lead to 47-32 entering half time. The offence and defence worked hard in the second leg of the game to bring home the win and give Carleton their first loss of the season.  Â
Cameron Bett led the Gaels with 22 points, his second game of the season with over 20 points. The Syllas brothers also scored joined the double digits in points with Luka scoring 19 points and Cole adding 13. Connor Keefe had 10 rebounds on the night.
On Carleton's end, the majority of their points were split between two players. Aiden Warnholtz led the Ravens with 22 points and Wazir Latiff added 13.
Speaking with Head Coach Steph Barrie after the game, he said he "thought we had good intensity and that our focus was good throughout the night, especially defensively, we were very solid."
Barrie also spoke very highly of the opponent adding, "there is always an extra level of motivation when playing Carleton, one of the greatest collegiate basketball programs in North America, period."
With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 5-0 on the season, while the previously undefeated Ravens fell to 4-1 with the loss.Â
