Queen's Men's Basketball erased a 10-point half time lead to defeat the Laurier Golden Hawks 77-73 Friday in Waterloo, Ont.
The Gaels were outscored by nine points in the opening quarter and trailed by 10 at half time. Queen's cut Laurier's lead in half heading into the fourth quarter and outscored their opponents by nine points down the stretch to secure the four-point win.
With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 5-0 on the season.
Cole and
Luka Syllas led the way offensively for Queen's in the win with
Cole Syllas recording game-highs in points (25) and rebounds (15).
Luka Syllas finished with 23 points and six rebounds in the win.
David Ayon added 10 points off the bench for the Gaels while
Connor Keefe finished one point shy of a double double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
Queen's shot 41 per cent from the floor and 25 per cent from three-point range on the night, compared to 35 per cent from the floor and 16 per cent from three-point range for the Golden Hawks.
The Gaels will close out their road doubleheader Saturday against the Waterloo Warriors.
