Queen's Women's Hockey blank York for home victory

KINGSTON, Ont. (Nov. 12, 2022) - Queen's Women's Hockey defeated the York Lions 4-0 Saturday at the Memorial Centre.

Queen's took advantage of their power play opportunities, scoring 3 of the 4 goals on the advantage. The Gaels had four different goal scorers for the night with Alyson Reeves, Charlotte Melindy, Quinn Johnston, and Alex Maw each getting one behind the goalie for the win. Melindy's goal was their first as a Gael and Maw's goal was their first of the season.

First year goalie Vanessa Campeau made 40 saves to earn their first shutout as a Gael.

The win brings Queen's record to 4-3-1 on the season. The Gaels play their next game away on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., while they visit the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks. The game will be available to stream at oua.tv.
