Queen's Women's Soccer blank crosstown rivals, RMC, to remain undefeated

KINGSTON, Ont. (Oct. 12, 2022) - Jenna Matsukubo scored two first half goals to help lead Queen's Women's Soccer past their crosstown rivals, the RMC Paladins, 4-0 Wednesday at RMC.

After Matsukubo (Ottawa, Ont.), opened the scoring for the Gaels in the 14th minute, she doubled Queen's lead in the 20th minute with her fourth goal of the season.

Just three minutes later Cecilia Way (Victoria, B.C.) netted her sixth goal of the season and Seema Sakran (Barrie, Ont.) found the back of the net for her team-leading ninth goal of the season, which has her second in the OUA, in the 61st minute.

Queen's outshot RMC 18-3 and 12-3 in shots on goal. Kirstin Tynan (North Vancouver, B.C.) made three saves for the clean sheet in the win for the Gaels.

With the win, Queen's record improved to 6-0-3 while the Paladins' record dropped to 0-8-1 with the loss. The Gaels sit provisionally third in the OUA East standings, three points behind the second place Toronto Varsity Blues but with a game in hand.
