Queen's Men's Hockey completed the sweep of their cross-town home-and-home series with the RMC Paladins, winning 5-1 on Saturday at RMC.
Holden Katzalay (West Vancouver, B.C.) led the Gaels' offence with a hat trick and one assist, opening the scoring three minutes into the first period with a power play goal before adding power play goals late in the second period and midway through the third period.
Queen's scored four of their five goals with the man advantage, with
Josh Curtis (Winnipeg. Man.) also finding the back of the net on the power play with a goal assisted by Katzalay early in the second period. The Gaels' power play was 4/5 in the game.
Jonathan Yantsis (Markham, Ont.) and
Matthew Needham (Penticton, Ont.) also had big games offensively for the Gaels, recording three assists each.
Duncan Campbell (Brandon, Man.) rounded out the scoring for Queen's.
Anthony Popovich (Belleville, Ont.) made 42 saves in the Gaels' win.
Queen's is back in action next weekend with a doubleheader against the Nipissing Lakers in North Bay, Ont. The Gaels take on Nippissing Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 13 at 3:30 p.m.
