Queen’s Gaels defeat Guelph Gryphons, capture Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship bronze medal on home field

(Kingston, Ont.) – The host Queen's Gaels won the bronze medal at the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship with a 13-5 win over the Guelph Gryphons Sunday at Nixon Field.

The game was a rematch of the OUA Final earlier this month, which the Gryphons won 37-28.

Thomas Kirkwood led the way for the Gaels in the win, with two penalty converts and one convert for eight points in the game. Noah King added Queen's lone try of the game.

Colin Smibert scored the lone try for Guelph in the loss.

Alex Pipchuk was named Player of the Game for the Gaels while Colin Lynch was named Player of the Game for the Gryphons.
