Concordia comes from behind to beat Calgary in Consolation Final at Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship

(Kingston, Ont.) – The Concordia Stingers overcame a seven-point first half deficit and scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to defeat the Calgary Dinos 39-17 in the Consolation Final at the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship (CUMRC).

With the win, the Stingers finished the tournament in fifth place.

Concordia trailed 17-10 through the first 25 minutes of play before cutting Calgary's lead to two points at half time with a try, and outscoring them 24-0 in the second half on their way to the comeback win.

Arthur Du Chaffaut with two tries, and Aidan McMullan with one try and two converts led the way for the Stingers. JC Vinette, Laurence Belley, Mohamed Almoallim, and Tom Artmann also scored tries for Concordia in the win.

Keegan Neary led the way for Calgary in the loss with two converts and a penalty convert, while Adham Young and Colin Petrillo added tries for the Dinos.

Almoallim was named the Player of the Game for Concordia while Neary was named Player of the Game for Calgary.
