Queen's Rowing picks up six first place finishes at Head of the Trent Regatta

Queen's Rowing competed in the Head of the Trent Regatta over the weekend, finishing first in six events.

Queen's won the Men's 1, Men's 2, Men's 8+, Women's Lightweight 1, Women's Lightweight 2, and Women's Lightweight 4.

Gavin Stone (Brampton, Ont.) finished the Men's 1 with a time of 17:58.78, more than 45 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

The Gaels won the Men's 2 with a time of 16:52.97, more than six seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.

Queen's won the Men's 8+ with a time of 14:33.25, more than five seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.

On the women's side, Queen's won the Lightweight 1 with a time of 20:41.82, more than eight seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.

The Gaels won the Lightweight 2 with a time of 18:53.91, more than 30 seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.

And Queen's wom the Lightweight 4 with a time of 18:34.90, less than one second ahead of the second-place finishers.

Other strong results for Queen's included Andrew Hubbard (Calgary, Alta.) finishing second in the Men's Lightweight 1, Claire Ellison (Halifax, N.S.) finishing third in the Women's 1, second place finishes in the Men's Lightweight 2 and Women's 8+, and a third and fourth place finish in the Women's 2.

Queen's returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Brock Invitational in St. Catherines.
