Christie Gray led the way on offence for Queen's Women's Soccer, scoring a hat trick in their 5-0 win over Royal Military College Sunday at Richardson Stadium.
With the win, the Gaels are back in the win column after their 2-1 loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees Friday night, and improve their record to 7-1-0 on the season. RMC's record fell to 0-7-1 with the loss.
With her three goals Sunday, Gray (Vancouver, BC) now has eight goals in eight games this season, which leads Queen's and is second in the OUA.
Gray opened the scoring in the second minute of the game before doubling the Gaels lead in the 17th minute with a goal assisted by
Hannah Melchiorre.
Maddy Moran (Edmonton, Alta.) found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to give Queen's a three-goal lead at half time.
Jamie Foot (North Vancouver, BC) added to Queen's lead early in the second half before Gray completed her hat trick in the 77th minute with a goal assisted by Melchiorre (Thunder Bay, Ont.) again.
Queen's finished the game with 43 shots and 24 shots on goal, with RMC goalkeeper Breanna Habinski making a number of incredible saves. Habinski finished the game with 19 saves.
Gabi Laaouan (Halifax, N.S.) made her first start in net for Queen's this season, making two saves for the clean sheet.
