SENIORS NIGHT
GAME FLOW
There was no need to heat up the first set, as the match kicked off red-hot. A point-for-point struggle quickly ensued, with big kills of
Mitchell Neuert and
Erik Siksna. Set one was pushed into an extended set off a tip by
Zane Grossinger. A massive kill by Siksna gave the Gaels the two-point lead required to take the set 27-25.
Neuert tied up the Gryphons early in the second set for a lead before the technical time-out. Great attacks off
Dax Tompkins and tips from
Zac Hutcheson contributed to the Gaels late set turn-around. The Gaels maintained their match lead, taking the second set 25-22.
Tompkins continued his impressive showing, nailing an ace in the final moments of the third set. First year Tompkins completed a match total of five kills and three aces. The Gaels come out on top of the third set 25-16. Despite their slow first set, the Gaels take another clean 3-0 set sweep.
