Syllas brothers each post double-double performances as Gaels take down Badgers 75-69

ST. CATHERINES, Ont. (January 25, 2020) - The Queen's Men's Basketball team (10-6) beat the Brock Badgers (9-7) with a score of 75-69 on Saturday night.

GAME FLOW
Despite Brock getting off to a hot start keeping a five-point lead over the Gaels, the final two minutes saw Harry Range score his first points on the night to tie the score at 20. Landon Brickenden of Queen's dropped a 3-point shot that was followed by a jump shot from Cameron Bett to round out the Gaels first quarter with 25 points. Moving into the second frame, Queen's led the Badgers with a score of 25-20.

The Gaels continued to dominate in the second quarter, holding Brock to just 13 points. With five turnovers and four fouls the Badgers struggled to gain any offensive momentum. Queen's was able to hang on to their lead moving into the second half of the game with a score of 38-33.

Early in the third quarter the Badgers brought themselves within three points of the Gaels. Queen's responded with a six-point unanswered streak that continued to keep the game out of reach. A late foul by Bruno Chan would give Brock the opportunity to stay within nine points of Queens. Moving into the final frame the score was 56-47.

The fourth quarter saw both teams going point-for-point but this was not enough for the Badgers to gain the lead. The game finished with the Gaels on top with a score of 75-69. This win was a team effort from the Gaels as six players were able to score over 10 points. Cole Syllas led the Gaels with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists while his brother Luka also posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
