Montreal, Qc. (January 20th, 2020) – Hotchkiss scores only goal for the Gaels (9-11-0-2) but it isn't enough as they're defeated 2-1 in a shootout to Concordia (9-9-5-0).
GAME FLOW
After the Gaels won their last two, they had planned on taking on the Stingers for the first time defeating them 5-0 in October. However that game was postponed and was rescheduled for Monday night.
The first goal favored Queen's with Matt Hochkiss scoring his sixth of the year off a rebound to put the Gaels up 1-0.
At the end of the first period, the Gaels led in shots 21-5.
With no scores throughout the second, Concorida tied things up during the third and after the final twenty minutes the game would head into overtime.
A shootout would be required in the rescheduled game in Montreal.
Josh Curtis began the shootout with a miss. Followed by Tyler Hylland scoring for Concordia. Matt Hotchkiss would miss his shot, with Phillipe Sanche and
Will Sirman both missing their scoring opportunities.
The Stingers tool the shootout win to defeat the Gaels 2-1.
