LONDON, Ont, (January 17, 2020) – The Queen's Gaels (7-3) defeated the Western Mustangs (4-6) in a four set match 3-1 on Friday night in OUA men's volleyball action. 
 
GAME FLOW 
The Gaels and the Mustangs were evenly matched from the beginning. Set one saw some hesitation for the Gaels on defence, suffering several attack errors. However, 
Adam Boljkovac's explosive offence managed to hold onto the first set for the Gaels 28-26. Boljkovac completed a total of 18 match kills, and also showed well on defence with 11 match total digs. 
 
The energetic fight to hold onto the first set weighed on the Gaels in the second. The Mustangs hammered the Gaels with consecutive kills. The Gaels were unable to match the Mustangs attack. Mustangs took the second set 25-12.
 
The Mustangs began the third set with several service and attack errors. This gave 
Zac Hutcheson the opportunity to drive a hard attack line. Hutcheson completed a total of four kills in the third set, and 17 match total kills.  The Gaels took the third set 25-20.
 
The Mustangs mid match come back pushed the game into a fourth set. The Gaels consistent energy throughout the match payed off, taking the fourth set 25-23, and the match 3-1. 
Zane Grossingers' performance was crucial to the Gaels close match victory. Grossinger set a match total of 43 assists and completed 11 match total digs.
