NORTH BAY, Ont. (January 12, 2020) –
Jaren Burke added a goal and assist in the Queen's Gaels (8-11-0-1) victory over the Nipissing Lakers (7-12-1-2) on Sunday.
GAME FLOW
Following a Friday night loss, the Gaels gave up the lead early Sunday afternoon with Lakers Gael Lubwele putting Queen's behind 1-0 twenty-five seconds into the contest.
The Lakers would end the first period getting another shot past Queen's goalie
Luke Richardson.
Beginning a second period which saw the Gaels staring at a 2-0 deficit, Queen's answered back in a hurry with a goal from
Patrick Sanvido scoring 1:47 into the second period.
It wouldn't take long for Queen's to tie things up with
Jaden Lindo scoring his own goal a few moments later less than five minutes into the second. Lindo picked off a clearing attempt and fired a shot that nearly beat the Lakers netminder, he followed up and pushed the rebound in for the goal.
Jaren Burke would score what would be the eventual game winning goal on a Gaels power play later in the second.
The Gaels controlled the second period ending with seventeen shots and coming back from 2-0 to lead 3-2 after 40 minutes.

Josh Curtis,
Nevin Guy and
Jared Bethune would be the four Gaels aiding each of the three goals for the Gaels Sunday night.
After a scoreless third period, the Gaels ended the night with a 3-2 victory over the Lakers, sweeping Nipissing 3-0 in the season series.
