PETERBOROUGH, Ont. (January 10
th, 2020) – The Queen's Gaels (5-3) travelled to Peterborough where they were able to pick up their first win of the New Year defeating the Trent Excalibur in straight sets 3-0.
Game Flow
The Gaels stormed the court Friday evening showing off their New Year energy on the Excalibur home court. Queen's sailed through the first set taking the early upper hand with a 25-18 win. With outside hitter
Zac Hutcheson slamming a total of 16 match kills, the Gaels had the momentum from start to finish.
More of the same followed opening the second set; with a strong overall performance from outside hitter
Adam Boljkovac who finished with 14 match kills and seven digs. The Gaels took the second set 25-19.
The third set continued with fast offence from the Queen's. However, the Gaels did see a final push from the Excalibur in the third set, the Tricolour managed to hold onto their early lead taking the set 25-23. Rounding out a clean sweep of the match 3-0.
