Gaels fall 3-0 to Mustangs Friday night in London

LONDON, Ont. (January 10th, 2020) – The Queen's Gaels (8-6-1-1) keep it close throughout first two periods but eventually fell 3-0 to the Western Mustangs (7-5-2-0) in OUA women's hockey action Friday night.

GAME FLOW
Coming off a win last Saturday night in Kingston against the Lakers, the Gaels had all the momentum going into Friday's matchup vs the Mustangs; a team the Gaels have not taken on since September of last year.

The first period would begin and end scoreless as both teams defensively refused to let in an early goal as they would head into the locker room stuck at a 0-0 tie.

Throughout the second, the Gaels would find themselves in power play opportunities however were unable to capitalize for the lead.

Following back to back scoreless periods, the game would head into the final period with both teams looking for the game's first goal. Queen's would surrender the game's first goal, however the Gaels would find themselves down just 1-0 with plenty of time to respond and force the game into overtime.

Queen's would eventually let in two more, including an empty netter, as they would fall 3-0 to the Mustangs Friday night in London.
