Gaels stay undefeated with 2-0 win over Ryerson

TORONTO (September 7, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (3-0-0) continued their hot start to the OUA season with a 2-0 victory over the Ryerson Rams (1-2-0) on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.

GAME FLOW
After a scoreless opening 45, the Gaels were finally able to break the deadlock as rookie Jenna Matsukubo finished off a feed from Rebecca Kim for her second tally of the season.

Just 10 minutes after the Gaels were able to extend their lead to 2-0. Cecilia Way picked up her first career strike and had a season-high five shots in the match.

Strong play from keeper Alanna Richardson was the final piece to keep the Rams off the scoresheet as Richardson stopped all five shots she faced for her first win and clean sheet of the season.

The Gaels finished with 13 shots in the match compared to just seven for the Rams. Having met the Rams twice in three matches the Gaels are now 2-0 against the Toronto team having outscored them 4-1.
