TORONTO (September 8th, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (3-0-1) remain undefeated to start the OUA season as they drew 2-2 in Toronto against the Varsity Blues (1-1-2) on Sunday afternoon.
GAME FLOW
After a tight first half back and fourth trading shots, the Queen's Gaels scored the first goal of the match during the 38th minute of play. A great individual effort from
Jenna Matsukubo saw the rookie Gael slice through the Toronto defence a fire a shot to the top of the net past the Toronto keeper.
Just six minutes later, Matsukubo got the ball in front to
Cecilia Way who found the back of the net for the second Gaels goal of the afternoon.
Way ended the day tallying two shots on goal. The second half saw the Varsity Blues surge back striking in both the 50th and 62nd minutes of the game to even the match at 2-2.
The two teams battled to the final whistle and finished with a draw.
MATSUKUBO SHINES
She's currently sitting tied for second with four goals in the first two weekends of the 2019 season and is quickly making a name for herself in the OUA.
