KINGSTON, Ont. (Sept 7, 2019) - The Queen's women's rugby team continued their dominant start to the season with an 100-0 victory over the McMaster Marauders at Nixon Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Gaels opened the game on the attack as Sofie Kennedy opened the scoring with a try. Pipi McKay blocked a McMaster kick, Harlee Bruce picked up the loose ball scrambled to run it in for a try in the 7th minute.
Sophie de Goede sprinted pass McMaster for a 15-metre run and Taylor Black 20 metre run ended in a try to increase the lead to 28-0 for the Gaels. Black led all players in the match with four tries. First-year Carmen Izyk had a highlight run in the 20th minute, beating her defenders and sprinted nearly the length of the field for her first try of the game. Izyk scored on the Gaels' next possession, fighting through the Marauders for a short 10-metre try.
Sofie Kennedy, McKinley Hunt, and Black scored three consecutive tries to provide Queen's with a 64-0 lead at halftime.
The Tricolour continued their attack in the second half, scoring eight tries. After Lizzy Gibson scored, Black scored two consecutive tries to push the lead to 81-0. Bridget Peros added her lone try of the match in the 67th minute.
Cecila Martensson scored closed out the high-scoring affair with a try in the 71st minute to cap the 100-0 victory for Queen's over McMaster.
