Gaels shutout the Laurentian Voyageurs in dominant 4-0 victory

KINGSTON (September 29th, 2019) – The Gaels (7-0-2) easily defeat the Laurentian Voyageurs (2-4-2) 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Richardson Stadium.  

GAME FLOW

Through the first 20 minutes of play, the Gaels dominated control of the ball and put pressure on the Voyageurs defence.

Christie Gray opened the scoring in the 24th minute, finding the back of the net on an assist from Jenna Matsukubo. Taylor Green added a second goal for the Gaels in the 30th minute to give Queen's a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the 68th minute, Gray added her second of the match increasing the Gaels lead to 3-0 with just under 25 minutes left.

Matsukubo closed out the match with a goal in the 83rd minute to secure a 4-0 victory as the Gaels earned their seventh win of the season.

The Gaels dominant shutout of the Voyageurs paired with the outstanding performances by Matsukubo and Gray aids the Gaels as they continue the hunt for their first OUA championship since 2015.
