Gaels go into Guelph and pick up fifth straight victory over Gryphons

GUELPH, Ont. (September 20, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (3-0) marched into Guelph and took a decisive win over the Gryphons (2-1) 21-10.

GAME FLOW
The two sides were evenly matched in the early stages as it was a match under the lights on Friday in Guelph. The Gaels were finally able to break through as Ruairidh MacPhail touched down the games first try 18 minutes in. Connor Jaques hit the successful conversion and the Gaels were up 7-0.

After Guelph scored their first try at 35 minutes the two teams entered halftime tied at 7-7.

The Gaels proved to be too much for their rivals in the second stanza as Stefan Zuliani put down a try at 52 minutes and after a penalty kick by Guelph Trevor Algeson sealed the win with a try at the 62-minute mark. Jaques was good on all converts in the match and Queen's held on 21-10.

REMATCH
Queen's and Guelph was a rematch of last season's OUA championship that the Gaels won at Nixon field.
