Gaels defeat Golden Hawks in first road match of the season

WATERLOO, Ont (September 14th, 2019) - The Queen's Gaels (2-0) challenged the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (1-1) at University Stadium this afternoon in Waterloo. The Gaels were able to take their first road victory of the OUA season, with a 43-21 win against the Golden Hawks. 

GAME FLOW
The Queen's Gaels burst onto the turf in Waterloo this afternoon, with Stephen Lockhart scoring an early try and Dylan Young kicking the conversion within three minutes of kick off.

The Golden Hawks returned the seven points shortly following at the five minute mark. A try for try pattern was maintained for the duration of the first half. The half time whistle was blown at 19-14 for the Gaels.

Laurier was unable to keep the Gaels out of their try zone in the second half. As Queen's fought for four tries in the second half, taking home the win with a 43-21 final. Dylan Young led the Gaels with two tries and three conversions on the afternoon.

The Gaels go head-to-head with the Guelph Gryphons September 20 at 7:00 pm in a rematch of the OUA championship from last season.
